About Me

My Photo
Doe Grozs Art
I love to create and decorate. I'm a mural artist which also extends to painting on anything else. And the tile idea, I have to give credit to my friend Emelio, who I have painted many tiles for.... I also teach art to kids. Kids are good for your art. They free you up!

dinning - kitchen chairs and restuarants

This restuarant is closing, and who knows if the next owner will keep the mural. As I was walking by the other day, I decided to take a few pictures. This is the wall of the building on the deck for out door dining... oh well, things change.
Back of the chair for a client... little by little...

Taking flight......

this is still the unfinshed painting but it is after a trip to Peru (machu picchu on the left) and the future visit to Lake Titicaca on the right. Yes, although I like to be grounded, I do need to take flight at times...........

House Swap

These are recycled business cards that I played with for a swap.

Some recent stuff

Played around with using texture in the background.
Feather's have been an ongoing theme for awhile with me. It started with the dream of a yellow and black bird.
Chair for Michelle.

Michelle's desk

I changed the brown tip of the stool because it was too "heavy" and made it like the tips of the desk.

Tiles installed

Here's the tiles installed.
The skinny strip along side the cabinet is waiting for hanging garlic....
work was done at home, positioning where the plug would go with the green tape.

Fruit bowls

After cleaning off the top of the table, I started in on some shelves and came upon a bunch of pictures. Just what I needed too. Emelio wants a fruit bowl for the RI house. Top one was painted for a house in South Carolina, the other is in the Harrison house.

Wellingtons

Wellingtons is done. Finished the bar area with ragging on technique...
the dinning room has ragging off.

Sydney's art. We created paper with craypas and watercolors one session. The next week they had to create something using the paper by cutting it up. This is one example...

Harrison Children's Center Artwork

These are the pieces from last weeks class. This was a fun project and the kids had a blast with the letters. After class, I looked at their work and thought it quite interesting how they each used their letteres. Some used them randomly, while others spelled out their names or used it to create disign, borders, etc.

Harrison Children's Center Art project

oh, I have so neglected this blog. I had intentions of other things, but the best laid plans......
So instead, it will be still business related but more for art classes and mural work.
What I have been doing lately is having the Children's Center come to the Recreation Center for art classes. There will be an exhibit held in the Municipal building April 9. This will be an exhibit of art and photos (and quotes). It's a plug for the Children's Center and for me but more than that it is in memory of Ginny. I had approached Ginny about doing this 2 years ago and it just never took off....mostly because I procrastinated. Lesson learned.
I have been having a blast working with the kids and we've been doing some fun stuff. I really enjoy watching them create. These are made from foam core. Funny how they mostly came up with figures... alien, but still figures.

Altered Spice Bottles

Here are a few altered spice bottles. They can be personalized for any occasion: Birthdays, Weddings and Anniversarys, maybe a special bottle for a particular desire such as love...abundance...creativity.
These bottles are painted, stamped and embellished with gemstones, beads, fibers, and charms. Inspirational messages are on the outside as well as on the inside. The inside message hangs from the cork top and are made from shrink plastic.
Prices start at $30.
